By sharing my writing (Poetry in particular), a life long dream, I hope to inspire others to go after their dreams and goals.

No Matter

Valerie Maldonado

No matter who occupies the White House next remember;

You can still be kind

and be of service to someone

You can still have a voice

and make a difference and then some

You can rise above the noise and angst

Find a way to celebrate and give thanks

Even in these unsettling times

You can almost always find

A reason to smile, laugh, love

Thanking God up above

For though the world feels upside down

There is hope to be found

No matter who occupies the White House next

You can turn your fears into positive steps

We are all in this together

No matter who you favored

Individually and collectively

We can unite “our” country

No matter who occupies the White House

You and I will still be ourselves

We can all be civil

and of value to others

We will still have a choice

to be sisters and brothers

Yes these times are scary

Yes we’re all growing weary

But if we dig down deep inside

We can put our differences aside

No matter who occupies the White House next

It is us, the people, who ultimately decide

How we act, who we are, and how we move forward
