Hello,
I pray everyone is as well as they can be in the middle of a pandemic and in a year with so much change and uncertainty. Normally around this time of year I am happily setting goals for the New Year and assessing if my current goals are on track. While I am still doing that my enthusiasm is tempered by the fact that the immediate future cannot be planned as one would normally plan for it. Once the phrase, “anything can happen between now and then” was used offhandedly with a courageous view that usually nothing would happen. These days it feels as if literally anything can happen.
Still we cannot allow that to dampen our spirits or dreams for the future. Keeping health and safety a top priority and justice and equality as its bookend, we should challenge ourselves everyday and in every way toward creating a positive future. A future focused on strengthening our relationships, bodies, minds, and spirits and the world around us and all its complex issues. Set goals, learn about current events, take action where possible to make a difference, speak up when necessary, stay away from negativity, keep hope in your heart, God in your life, love in your deeds, kindness in everything and look forward to the future. There is always light after dark.
