The Beauty of Five Minutes

Time

So mysterious. So long at times yet so short.

So desired.

Most people crave more time.

Time in their day to get everything done.
Time in their year to accomplish new goals.
Time with loved ones,  especially when saying
     goodbye.

Women, at least in my experience,  usually crave time in this way.

"Just give me 5 minutes,  please?"

Five minutes to:

Have a cup of coffee or tea uninterrupted
Use the ladies room uninterrupted
Take a cat nap
Talk to a friend
Listen to their favorite song
Simply breathe

Five minutes doesn't seem like very much time in a 24 hour day but for some, especially women who have so much on their plates, it can feel like a gift.

If you're looking for a gift idea for a Mom (or a Dad)
Someone who works two jobs
A student who works and attends school
A person who manages employees
A young person juggling many activities
Pretty much anyone who has many things to take care of

Why not give them the gift of time?

My thoughts would be tickets to the movies,  the museum, just about any cultural or artistic place you can think of.

Certificates to a spa or any pampering place that comes to mind.

But the overall best way to give the gift of time is to give some of your own time.

Gift an hour of babysitting.
An hour of assistance.
An hour just to listen.
An hour to alleviate that person's day.

Christmas is not just a day to receive wrapped gifts. It is a season meant to be filled with love,  joy, caring, eating, gathering and time.

Yes, time.

Time with one another. Time with family and friends. Precious time with loved ones.

Merry Christmas!
